News - Brazil’s Bovespa May Rise to 80,000 by End-2010, Santander Says
Oct. 21 (Bloomberg) - Brazil’s Bovespa index may rise to 80,000 by the end of 2010, bolstered by earnings growth and a declining country-risk premium, Banco Santander SA said.
That forecast represents a 23 percent advance from yesterday’s close of 65,303.11. The benchmark index has gained 74 percent this year. Santander recommended that investors buy domestic “cyclical” stocks on the prospect that economic growth will accelerate from the second half into next year, led by consumer spending.
