News - Brazil’s IGP-M Price Index Declined 0.74% in March
March 30 (Bloomberg) - Brazilian prices as measured by the IGP-M price index fell 0.74 percent in March, the Getulio Vargas Foundation said.
The drop on consumer, construction and wholesale prices, as measured by the IGP-M, compares with a 0.26 percent increase in February, the Rio de Janeiro-based Getulio Vargas Foundation said today in a report released on its Web Site.
The drop in prices was bigger than the expected 0.35 percent decline, according to the median forecast in Bloomberg survey of 25 analysts.
The yield on the overnight interest rate future contract for July 2009 delivery fell four basis points to 10.29 percent at 9:06 a.m. New York time on Sao Paulo’s BM&F commodity and futures exchange.
